Valves.-A rotary cylindrical valve arranged transversely at the head of the cylinders consists of two members c, c<1> rotating at one-fourth and one-half the speed of the crank-shaft respectively. The outer member c also has a reciprocating movement for distributing lubricant. The valve controls a pair of opposite ports d in the combustion chamber, and is balanced as regards the pressure in the cylinder.
