142,344. Leadbetter, T. A. N., Gilchrist, A. L. K., and Tate, W. H. June 20,1919. Valves.-Separate piston valves 7, 8, for admission and exhaust respectively, working in fixed cylindrical casings, have their inner ends exposed to the pressure in the combustion chamber and are connected to the two arms of a rocking beam 13 so that the end pressures on the valves are balanced. The arrangement is particularly applicable to a two-cylinder unit 2, 3 with common combustion chamber 1.
