Abstract

173,294. Robinson, C. Sept. 22, 1920. Valve-gear; valves.-In engines in which the explosion chamber is formed between a main piston 8 and an auxiliary piston 9, the auxiliary piston is positively driven from a halfspeed shaft 12 through a cam 22. The inlet and exhaust ports 21, 20 are controlled by the auxiliary piston and by a sleeve valve 17 driven by a pair of eccentrics on the cam shaft. Specification 102,852 is referred to.
