Valves. -- A supplementary piston b driven from an overhead half-speed shaft f controls an exhaust port n, scavenging port k, and mixture-admission port l, the two ports k, l communicating in succession with a passage m controlled by a poppet valve g. Valve-gear.-The valve g is actuated by a tappet i engaging a roller h on the connecting-rod e. According to the Provisional Specification, the valve g is operated by a cam-shaped slot or face on the connecting-rod.
