Seats.-A port packing A for a rotary cylindrical inlet and exhaust valve for internal-combustion engines, for example a valve of the type described in Specification 127,218, [Class 7 (vi), Internalcombustion engines, Valves &c. for], comprises a cylindrical portion X which enters the passage leading to the working cylinder, and lateral extensions 2, 2 which lie in the direction of the axis of the valve and are housed in a recess in the valve casing. The upper face of the member A is pressed against the periphery of the valve by springs 4, 4 which bear against the extensions 2.
