Abstract

Rotary disc valves.-A rotary disc valve 3 controlling inlet and exhaust ports 6, 7 in an engine cylinder has the edges 12 of the port in the valve bevelled or inclined in the direction of rotation as shown in Fig. 5, with a view to facilitating the rotation of the valve and preventing sticking. The cylinder ports 6, 7 are sloped in the same direction. Cooling-fins 10 are provided on the valve cover. The valve seat and cover may be formed with recesses 17.
