Valves; valve-gear.-A sleeve valve j is rotated by means of projections i, i' engaging a grooved cam c which is so shaped that the sleeve accelerates as the sleeve port m opens and closes the inlet and exhaust ports x, y. T h e sleeve valve i s lightened b y forming holes h, and is formed with a flange k which rests on a ball bearing l. In a multicylinder engine, a single cam c serves to operate the sleeves of two cylinders arranged one at each side of the cam.
