Fluid-actuated valves.-In internal-combustion engines in which starting is effected by using the scavenging-pump 1 as a steam-engine, the admission of steam to the valve casing 17 through an inlet 16 depresses the air inlet valve 7 on to its seat as shown, and also causes a ported sleeve 13 to descend to allow the steam to flow through the port 15 and valve 5 to the pump.
