Abstract

608,723. Rotary valves. CROSS, R. C., and CROSS MANUFACTURING CO. (1938), Ltd. Feb. 28, 1946, No. 6261.' [Class 7 (vi)] In a rotary cylindrical valve engine, wherein the cylinders 12 are extended at 13 to form part of the valve housing, the cylinders being free to move the part 13 into sealing contact with the valve under the force of the explosion, the valve is rigidly supported at either end and the upper cap 18 of the valve housing, which may consist of one member, or separate members for each cylinder, is resiliently connected by bolts 19 and springs 20 to the part 13. The inlet and exhaust manifold 27 is connected to the cap 18 by packing allowing for the play of the cap. Specifications 448,368, 451,917 and 467,620 are referred to.
