Abstract

249,115. Grace, L. G. March 8, 1926. Valves; valve gear. -Inlet at 22 and exhaust at 23 are connected at the appropriate times with a cylinder port 4 by ports 6 and 7 respectively in a piston valve 5 which receives a combined reciprocating and oscillating motion from a half-speed shaft 10. This shaft is formed with an inclined crank to which the valve rod 11 is attached by a two-part bearing 16, a universal joint 21 being provided between the valve and its rod 11. The piston valve may be provided with a single port co-operating with two cylinder ports.
