Four-stroke-cycle-engines.-Inlet at H and exhaust at E are controlled respectively by pistons G and F actuated by linkage gear from cranks or eccentrics K and J on an overhead shaft. The cranks are connected by links Q and L to toggle links R, T and N, P respectively. The axes of the pistons F, G may be inclined to the cylinder axis, and there may be a separate shaft to each piston.
