Abstract
443,709. Valve gear. JAMESON, J. L., Elland, Hemingford Road, Cheam, Surrey. June 1, 1934, No. 16412. [Class 7 (vi)] An overhead piston valve a, the end of which forms a part of the combustion chamber wall, is actuated by an overhead crank shaft i connected to the valve by links b, g, and a bell-crank f, so that the valve is in its lowest position when the actuating-crank is in the deadcentre position shown. In a modification, the valveactuating shaft is arranged in an oil chamber at one side of the cylinder head, a baffle being provided for preventing the oil from overflowing into the valve. Specifications 6067 /12 and 361,429, [Class 7 (vi)], are referred to.
