Starting.-To enable a multicylinder engine to be built either right or left hand, auxiliary casings d, h are mounted one at each end of the engine. The casing h is supported on a housing g attached to the crank case a; the housing contains the oil filter and a distributor k for the starting air. The control shaft p for this distributor is adjusted by a handle r. Pipes u, u<1> lead from the distributor to the cylinders and pipes v, v<1> connect the filter l to the oil pump s. The shaft p and its handle r may be placed on either side of the engine.
