Abstract

449,508. Oil engines. JUNKERSMOTORENBAU GES., 39, Junkersstrasse, Dessau, Anhalt, Germany. Jan. 29, 1936, No. 2716. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1935. [Class 7 (iii)] In a V-type engine the fuel pumps are arranged in pairs 6, 6<1> on opposite sides of a common driving shaft 9 located within the space between the engine cylinders. Fuel is preferably injected during the suction stroke either into the engine cylinders or into the induction pipes. The pumps are mounted on a bracket 15 projecting from the crank case 2 and tools for assembling and dismounting accessories are inserted through the gap between the ends of the pumps and the cylinders, and through openings 18 in a bracket 15. The control members of the pump are also located in the space between the cylinders. The Specification gives directions as to the relation between the angles between the pump cylinders and the angles between the working cylinders and the direction of rotation of the shaft 9 for two- and four-stroke engines.
