Abstract

459,578. Fuel - injection pumps. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Sept. 5, 1936, No. 24289. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1935. [Class 102 (i)] A fuel-injection pump comprises a number of cylinders 2 arranged radially around an eccentric 5 mounted on a driving shaft 4. A sleeve 24 is mounted on needle bearings 26 and shoes 21, pivoted to the pistons 3, are held in engagement with the sleeve 24 by recessed members 23. Each pump cylinder delivers through a pipe 15 and suction takes place through a pipe 6 and bores 8, 9, 11 in the driving shaft which communicate with a recess 12 in the latter. The recess 12 is bounded by a control surface 16 which cooperates with a port 13 in a bush 10 to open and close the connection between the recess 12 and the passage 14. The bush 10 is moved axially to vary the output of the pump and is rotated to vary the time of injection.
