Abstract

576,413. Fuel-injection pumps. DANVOGG. V. H., and DUER, V. April 28, 1941, No. 5466. Convention date, April 26, 1940. [Class 102 (i)] In a fuel-injection pump for internal combustion engines in which a plunger 10 with recesses 11, 13 is adjustable relatively' to the pump body 1 to control the duration of injection, and in which excess fuel can pass only to the return flow connection 4 during the pressure stroke, but suction can be effected from the inlet connection 3 and from the return flow connection 4 during the suction stroke, the and return flow connections 3, 4 are displaced axially relative to each other and communicate with the pumping chamber 9 through a number of orifices 6 and 8 respectively. The recess 13 extends around the plunger, whilst a pair of diametrically opposite recesses 11 communicate with the chamber 9 by means of transverse bores 15 and a short central bore 14.
