198,255. Brown, T. W. F., and Stephens & Sons, Ltd., A. July 14, 1922. Engine construction independent of cycle; crank chambers; driving-gear. - Two oppositely - acting pistons in coaxial cylinders 8, 9 drive the crank shaft through main and auxiliary cross-heads 16, 15 coupled together by side rods 17. These rods are guided by rollers or sleeves which may be adjustable; the rods are connected to the auxiliary cross-heads by forks 18. The crank case has a detachable cover-plate to provide access to the valves &c. on the lower cylinder head.
