508,464. Two - stroke - cycle engines. MICKELSEN, V., and REBBECK, F. E. Jan. 28, 1939, No. 3012. [Class 7 (ii)] A multi-cylinder compression - ignition single - acting two-stroke engine comprises stationary cylinder units 5, side by side, in each of which there is a piston 1 controlling admission ports 6 and a piston 8 controlling exhaust ports 7. The piston 1 is of the trunk type connected to a rod 3 by a gudgeon pin in the piston while the piston 8 is attached to a cross-beam 9 connected by a pair of rods 10 to sliding cross-heads 11 which are connected by eccentric rods 14 to eccentrics 13, one on each side of and of -shorter stroke than the crank to which the connecting rod 3 is connected. The crank and an eccentric on each side of it may be made all in one piece as shown.
