Abstract

531,009. Two-stroke cycle engines. MOLLER, E., PURDAY, H. F. P., and REBBECK, F. E. July 8, 1939, No. 19930. [Class 7 (ii)] Axially aligned cylinders on opposite sides of a central crank-shaft A each contain opposed pistons. The adjacent pistons D are connected by rods C to a common crank-pin B. Crossheads N to which the remote pistons F are attached, are connected to each other by rods and to a central cross-piece or frame H connected to or enclosing eccentrics K on the shaft. In a modification the pistons F may be connected by links and rocking-levers to a crankshaft geared to the shaft A.
