Abstract

242,104. Seiliger, M. Dec. 17, 1924. Two-stroke-cycle engines; driving-gear.-An engine is built up of groups of single acting cylinders the pistons of each group being connected to the crank shaft through a lever d and rod g. In two-stroke-cycle engines two coaxial cylinders a<1>, a<2>, are used, one on each side of the lever, the connecting rods c being connected to the lever at the same point; with four-stroke-cycle engines four cylinders are used in each group, two on each side of the lever. The power pistons are balanced by a weight h, which may be a scavenging pump piston for the twostroke-cycle engine. The point of attachment of the pistons to the lever and the fulcrum may be adjustable. Groups of such cylinders may be arranged alternately to right and left of the crank shaft.
