Abstract

Copper alloys contain 0,5-3 per cent of cobalt, and a combined content of 0,25-1 per cent of beryllium and aluminium, the beryllium being preferably at least equal to the aluminium. In making the alloy, the beryllium and aluminium may be introduced as an alloy of 50-90 per cent of beryllium and 10-50 per cent of aluminium, preferably 80 per cent of beryllium and 20 per cent of aluminium. The cast or forged alloy may be heated for 1-2 hours at 750-950 DEG C., quenched, and reheated for 1-4 hours at 400-600 DEG C. Specification 385,652 is referred to.
