Abstract

Permanent magnets are made from iron alloys containing 30-36 per cent of cobalt, 16-25 per cent of nickel, 6-12 per cent of titanium, and an amount of aluminium which is less than the titanium but more than half thereof, for example 60-80 per cent thereof, and with or without small amounts of molybdenum, tungsten, chromium, copper, uranium, and vanadium. The alloys may be quenched from above 1000 DEG C. and thereafter annealed at 500-750 DEG C.
