Abstract

Aluminium alloys contain 2-5 per cent of magnesium, 6,5-14 per cent of zinc, up to 2 per cent of copper, up to 0,5 per cent of iron, and 0,1-1 per cent of silicon, with or without up to 1 per cent of manganese, up to 5 per cent of cobalt, up to 5 per cent of molybdenum, up to 1,5 per cent of lithium, and up to 1 per cent each of vanadium, beryllium, and tungsten, the silicon content being always greater than the iron content. Heat treatment may comprise heating to 450-500 DEG C. for 1-2 hours, quenching, subjecting to atmospheric temperature for 2 days, and annealing at 100-160 DEG C. for 2 days.
