Abstract

Aluminium alloys contain 2-5 per cent of magnesium, 6,5-14 per cent of zinc, up to 2,5 per cent of copper, up to 2 per cent of nickel, up to 0,5 per cent of iron, and 0,1-1 per cent of silicon, with or without up to 1,5 per cent of manganese, up to 0,5 per cent of titanium, up to 1 per cent of lithium, up to 1,5 per cent of molybdenum, and up to 1 per cent each of cobalt, vanadium, tungsten, and beryllium, the maximum total of molybdenum, cobalt, vanadium, tungsten, and beryllium being 6,5 per cent, and the silicon content being always greater than the iron content. Heat treatment may comprise heating to 450-500 DEG C., for 1-2 hours, quenching, subjecting to atmospheric temperature for 2 days, and annealing at 100-160 DEG C. for 2 days.
