Abstract
Electric heating elements used in atmospheres containing sulphurous gases produced from hardening pastes or powders are made of iron alloys containing 0,01-2,5 per cent of carbon, 0,05-15 per cent of manganese, 0,05-15 per cent of silicon, 5-35 per cent of chromium, and 10-45 per cent of nickel. Nickel in excess of 10 per cent may be replaced by a corresponding amount of copper or cobalt or both, and up to a total of 10 per cent of one or more of the metals tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, and titanium may be present, the amount of any one of these metals being 2-5 per cent.
