Abstract

219,293. Deutsch - Luxemburgische Bergwerks-und H³tten-Akt.-Ges., (Assignees of Bauerfeld, F.). July 16, 1923, [Convention date]. Alloys.-Hard alloys for tools comprise chromium, tungsten, carbon, not less than 12 per cent of cobalt, 10-50 per cent of nickel, and 1-5 per cent of molybdenum; up to 10 parts of iron may be present. One or more of the elements silicon, boron, and vanadium may also be present. An example consists of 20 per cent of nickel, 25 per cent of cobalt, 33 per cent of chromium, 9.5 per cent of tungsten, 5 per cent of molybdenum, 5 per cent of iron, 2 per cent of carbon, and 0.5 per cent of silicon. In melting the alloy, dross may be removed by means of an iron rod. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the tungsten and molybdenum may be wholly or partly replaced by vanadium. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
