Abstract
525,517. Alloys. AKTIEBOLAGET KANTHAL. Feb. 27, 1939, No. 6468. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1938. [Class 82 (i)] Iron alloys for electric resistances for use at high temperatures contain 15-35 per cent. of chromium, 1-7 per cent. of aluminium, 0.5-8 per cent. of cobalt, and 0.1-3 per cent. of niobium together with 0.2-3 per cent. of tungsten or 0.1-4 per cent. of molybdenum or both. The cobalt may be partly replaced by titanium, and the carbon content may be 0.01-0.5. The molten alloy may be blown with a gas such as nitrogen to refine the grain. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, any one or two or all three of the metals niobium, tungsten, and molybdenum may be present. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
