Abstract

Corrosion-resistant iron alloys unhardenable by heat-treatment contain 16-22 per cent of chromium, up to 3 per cent of molybdenum, and less than 0.1 per cent of carbon. There may also be present up to 0.2 per cent of manganese, 0.5 per cent of silicon, 0.15 per cent of copper, and 0.3 per cent of nickel. The alloys may be subjected to cold working. Specifications 205,125 and 235,401, [both in Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], are referred to.
