Abstract

Ductile iron alloys containing 2-30 per cent of chromium, not more than 0,5 per cent of carbon, and not more than 1 per cent each of manganese and silicon, contain also titanium in an amount between about 4 times the carbon content and 4 times the carbon content plus 1,5 per cent. The alloys may be air or water cooled at various specified temperatures between 725 and 1100 DEG C. Iron alloys containing chromium and specified proportions of tungsten, uranium, and molybdenum are also referred to by way of comparison.
