Abstract
An aluminium alloy containing copper, chromium, and molybdenum is made by melting the aluminium and when it is at a bright red heat adding the other metals in the order stated. Some titanium may be added, and iron may be present as an impurity. The preferred proportions are as follows:-85-96 per cent of aluminium, 3-10 per cent of copper, 0,75-5 per cent. of chromium, 0,1-5 per cent of molybdenum, and 0,05-1 per cent of titanium.
