Abstract

An aluminium-nickel-silicon alloy is made by adding 0,5-3,5 per cent of nickel to an aluminium-silicon alloy containing 8-13 per cent of silicon. The preferred proportions in the product are 3 per cent of nickel, 11 per cent of silicon, and the remainder aluminium. The alloys may be treated by the usual modification process with sodium or sodium salts.
