Abstract

Nickel alloys containing up to 10 per cent of an alkaline - earth metal or magnesium or lithium with or without up to 1 per cent of carbon are improved by rapid cooling from high temperatures followed by a tempering at lower temperatures. Up to 45 per cent of one or more of the following elements may be present in the alloys: Copper, chromium, cobalt, iron, manganese, vanadium, titanium, tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten, silicon, boron, tin, cerium, aluminium, and zinc.
