Abstract

Pistons are constructed of copper alloy containing up to 5 per cent of beryllium. The alloy preferably contains 1,5 per cent of beryllium and 3 per cent of manganese and may be hardened by heating in 750 DEG C. and quenching. Specifications 271,454, 288,543 and 295,971, [all in Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], are referred to.
