Abstract
334,430. Hall, H. C., and Bradbury, T. F. Oct. 24, 1929. Alloys.-An aluminium alloy contains 0.1-4 per cent of magnesium, 0.5-2.5 per cent of nickel, 0.3-1.5 per cent of iron, 0.5-5 per cent of silicon, up to 0.5 per cent of titanium, up to 0.2 per cent of manganese, 0.01-0.2 per cent of chromium, and up to 0.5 per cent of copper. The alloy is made by the addition to aluminium of alloys rich in one or more of the other constituents, and may be refined by the addition of a small proportion of sodium. Specifications 171,996 and 323,353 are referred to.
