153,823. Hall, H. C., and Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Feb. 25, 1920. Alloys.-An aluminium alloy contains about 4-12 per cent of copper and 0.12-2.2 per cent of titanium with or without not more than 1.5 per cent of antimony or magnesium or both. Iron up to 0.6 per cent, silicon up to 0.4 per cent, and other impurities up to 0.5 per cent may also be present. The alloy may be made by first preparing an aluminium-copper-titanium alloy and adding this in small pieecs to a bath of molten commercial aluminium, with or without the simultaneous addition to the bath of an aluminium-copper alloy.
