Abstract

An aluminium alloy contains 3,5-4,5 per cent of copper, 0,7-1,5 per cent of manganese, and 1,4-1,8 per cent of magnesium. Iron and silicon may be present in the usual impurity proportions. The alloy may be made by adding aluminium-copper and aluminium-manganese alloys to molten aluminium, the magnesium being added to the melt just before casting.
