Abstract

201,617. Gabriel, C. E. P. May 1, 1922. Alloys.-An aluminium alloy consists of aluminium with small proportions of copper and chromium only, the preferred proportions being about 1.72 per cent of copper and 1.9 per cent of chromium. Pure copper, such as electrolytic copper, and substantially pure aluminium such as of 98-99 per cent purity are employed in making the alloy. Aluminium alloys containing specified proportions of the above metals and also of magnesium, or of magnesium and manganese, or of nickel, zinc, magnesium and antimony, are also referred to.
