Abstract

536,980. Alloys. STEVENS, A. H. (American Brass Co.). Dec. 1, 1939, No. 31277. [Class 82 (i)] Copper alloys contain 0.1-50 per cent. of zinc and 0.01-1 per cent. of boron, with or without any of the following: up to 35 per cent. of nickel, up to 10 per cent. of manganese, up to 10 per cent. of lead, up to 5 per cent. of cadmium, up to 10 per cent. of aluminium, up to 5 per cent. of iron, up to 5 per cent. of magnesium, up to 10 per cent. of titanium, up to 10 per cent. of vanadium, and up to 10 per cent. of zirconium. In making the alloy, the boron may be added as such or as a copper-boron alloy, or by the methods described in Specification 536,893.
