Abstract

530,447. Alloys. AMERICAN BRASS CO. June 9, 1939, No. 16946. Convention date, July 1, 1938. [Class 82 (i)] Copper alloys contain 0.1-5 per cent. of silicon and 0.005-4.5 per cent. of boron, with or without any of the following: up to 4 per cent. of manganese, up to 5 per cent. of tin, up to 3 per cent. of iron, up to 20 per cent. of zinc, up to 4 per cent. of selenium, up to 3 per cent. of cadmium, up to 5 per cent. of lead, up to 10 per cent. of aluminium, up to 2 per cent. of magnesium. In making the alloys, the boron may be added as such or as an alloy with copper, iron or manganese, for instance in the manner described in Specification 536,893.
