Abstract

508,975. Alloys ; annealing. TRIEMANN, W. H. A. (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges.). Jan. 10, 1938, No. 765. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Aluminium alloys contain 2-6 per cent of zinc, up to 12 per cent of magnesium and 0.05-1 per cent of chromium, with or without up to 1 per cent of manganese and 0.05-1 per cent of calcium, the magnesium content being at least 3 per cent more than that required for the formation with the zinc present of the compound MgZn2. The alloys may be heattreated by homogenizing and subsequently ageing either at room temperature or at up to 150‹ C. Specifications 432,351 and 438,512 and German Specification 528,025 are referred to.
