Abstract
Ternary or higher magnesium alloys contain cerium and one or more of the metals nickel, manganese, and cobalt, with or without calcium, and with or without other rare earth metals, for example thorium. The cerium may be applied as mischmetall. The alloys may contain 1-12 per cent of cerium, 0,1-4 per cent of manganese, 1-4 per cent of nickel, 1-4 per cent of cobalt, and 0,1-5 per cent of calcium. The alloys may be heated to 500 DEG C. or higher, and afterwards hardened by heating at 120-220 DEG C. for one or more days. Specification 464,030 is referred to.
