Abstract
Aluminium-silicon alloys, suitable for pistons and other purposes, containing about 20-90 per cent of silicon and 10-80 per cent of aluminium, with or without smaller amounts of other elements such as magnesium, beryllium, iron, manganese, nickel, and tungsten, are made by compressing a mixture of the comminuted constituents, with or without the aid of high temperatures preferably between 200 DEG C. and the melting point of the lowest-melting constituent.
