Abstract
Alloys suitable for electric heating resistances and other articles for use at high temperatures are made by the addition of over 0,05 and up to 2 per cent of calcium, barium, or strontium and 0,2-2 per cent of rare earth metal to a basis alloy consisting of one or more metals of the iron group and one or more metals of the chromium group, with or without aluminium, and with or without up to 2 per cent of zirconium, up to 5 per cent of thorium, and up to 2 per cent of manganese and silicon, the sum of the calcium &c. and the rare earth metal being not substantially over 2 per cent. If more than 10 per cent of iron is present, the range of calcium may be 0,02-2 per cent. Specifications 382,573 and 451,601 are referred to.
