Abstract

An electric resistance alloy comprises 30-40 per cent of nickel, 10-20 per cent of chromium, 0,001-0,2 per cent of calcium and the remainder iron. The alloy may also comprise 0,01-0,5 per cent of zirconium with or without 0,01-1,0 per cent of aluminium, and 0,1-2,0 per cent of manganese or silicon or both may be present. The nickel may contain up to 2 per cent of cobalt. According to the Provisional Specification, the alloy comprises 20-50 per cent of nickel and 5-25 per cent of chromium and may contain zirconium with or without aluminium, calcium being absent.
