Abstract
281,051. Wade, H., (International Nickel Co.). Oct. 4, 1926. Alloys.-Cast-iron alloys containing about 2-4 per cent of carbon contain also 5-35 per cent of nickel and 2-15 per cent of chromium, the nickel being always in excess of the chromium. The alloys may also contain 0.3-10 per cent of manganese, up to 3 per cent of aluminium, and 1-3 per cent of silicon. Copper may be added, preferably in the form of 5-60 per cent of a nickelcopper alloy in which the ratio of nickel to copper is 2.2 to 1. When copper is present, the nickel and copper together are in excess of the chromium, and the nickel may be in excess of the copper. Specification 126,362 is referred to.
