Abstract

Uniting by fusion.-A composition for use in welding copper consists of a copper alloy containing a noble metal such as silver, together with manganese. The manganese is preferably three fifths of the total addition of silver and manganese. A suitable alloy contains 0.6 per cent of manganese, 0.4 per cent of silver and a trace, e.g. 0.05 per cent of phosphorus.
