Alloys.-Aluminium alloys contain 0.05-0.4 per cent. of chromium, 0.2-1.5 per cent. of nickel, 0.1-1 per cent. of magnesium, 0.2-1.5 per cent. of silicon, 0.7-1.5 per cent of iron, 2-5 per cent. of copper, and up to 0.5 each of antimony and titanium. The alloys may be made by the addition to molten aluminium of aluminium alloys each containing one or more of the other elements. The antimony and titanium are added as cleansing agents, and they may wholly or partly disappear during the process of making the alloy. Specification 162,467 is referred to.
