Abstract

A zinc alloy for die-casting purposes consists of zinc of about 99,99 per cent purity together with 2-10 per cent of aluminium and 0,01-0,3 per cent of magnesium, the lead and cadmium together being not more than about 0,01 per cent, preferably not more than 0,003 per cent of cadmium, not more than 0,003 per cent of lead, and not more than 0,001 per cent of tin. Zinc alloys containing 4 per cent of aluminium and 3 per cent of copper, with or without 0,1 per cent of magnesium are also referred to. Specification 252,020, [Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], is referred to.
