Abstract

An aluminium-magnesium alloy suitable for pressure diecasting followed by anodizing and dyeing, has the following composition; Mg 1.0 to 3.5 per cent; Mn 0.5 to 1.5 per cent; one or more of Ca, Sr or Ba to a total of not more than 0.2 per cent; Be 0.02 per cent; impurities not more than 0.5 per cent; Al the balance.
