Abstract

A magnesium base alloy for photo-engraving plates has the following composition by weight: Cu and/or Ni, 0.01 to 0.5%; with or without Al, 2.0 to 5.0%; and Zn, 0 to 2.0%; the balance being Mg, impurities and alloying ingredients commonly used in known amounts in the photo-engraving art.
